Mechanical Superintendent
Salary range: $100,000 to $125,000 per year based on experience
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Superintendent for our Utility Division that will support work within the Texas, Nevada or Illinois region.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide on-site coordination and supervision for all phases of construction projects within the Mechanical scope of work.
- Read & comprehend building plans to effectively supervise the building of Mechanical systems of the highest workmanship, aesthetically pleasing, and optimally functional.
- Identify and communicate to Project Manager any conflicts between contract documents. Work with Project Managers to identify and execute solutions.
- Lead, motivate and manage multiple teams of field personnel in their daily activities to achieve and exceed both project specific and overall company goals and objectives.
- Manage daily activities of Mechanical field personnel including communicating and enforcing Company performance and safety requirements, evaluating performance, documenting, in writing, all field personnel issues, reporting and managing all field incidents, accidents and exceptions, and effectively communicating all matters pertaining to filed activities to Supervisor and Project Managers.
- Lead multiple teams to successfully achieve all budget, schedule and construction objectives for Mechanical projects including maintaining construction schedules; and installing, inspecting and testing Mechanical components.
- Lead multiple teams to assess, manage, document and communicate field conditions and activities to achieve budget and schedule objectives including providing timely and accurate manpower projections; projecting material needs and submitting material requests; and receiving, organizing, and managing materials delivered to the job site
- Manage and ensure field teams assess, manage, request and track tools and equipment necessary for execution of the work, including projecting needs, scheduling delivery and returning tools and equipment in a timely manner.
- Supervise and ensure field teams assemble, organize, submit and maintain job site documentation including packing slips for materials and equipment delivered, freight bills, accurate As Built drawings, and operational paperwork for pertinent equipment for O&M close out packages.
- Assist when requested to interface with inspectors and clients to ensure all project close-out objectives are met.
- Prepare and issue accurate, detailed and prompt reports which include but are not limited to: Daily Reports, Weekly Reports, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Master Weekly Report and tailgate meetings.
What You’ll Bring:
- 6+ years of experience working in Mechanical installations, underground and overhead conduits, trenching, back filling, concrete installation, and solar installations.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering or other technical specialty.
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), Uniform Building Code (UBC), local & utility jurisdiction requirements and OSHA regulations.
- Journeyman Electrician certification or NABCEP certification is preferred.
- Certified in OSHA 30 or ability to obtain certification after hire.
- Ability to determine work priorities and review work for quality and production standards.
- Highly motivated, adaptable, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work both with a team and independently.
- Must have excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Must excel with multi-tasking, problem-solving, written, and communication skills.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Must have a good driving record and maintain a valid Driver’s License
- Must be able to work in a physical environment with full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move greater than 25 pounds with or without assistance.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee may be regularly exposed to high, precarious places; climbing ladders; walking on roofs (both flat and angled); outside weather conditions and vibration; confined locations (i.e. attics and crawl spaces).
- The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of Mechanical shock.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
